Canvas

I just received my 1st canvas. I took this picture in Coeur d'Alene, ID. We were hiking with our dear friends. I love the way it turned out. The picture I took of the canvas is not so good, but you can get the idea. canvaspeople.com

Turning Coupon Scores into Garage Sales Profit

With all the coupon blogs and the TLC show, "Extreme Couponing", it seems that coupon shopping is the cool thing to do. Yet, it may just be that I have reached that stage in my life where coupon shopping is where the excitement is. I admit it, I find it fun and a bit addicting. I coupon, yes, but I do not go crazy with it. I usually only buy 1-3 of an item. Yesterday I stopped at a garage sale (yes, I also love garage sale shopping). At this sale there were 2 long tables filled with toiletries, cleaning products, cat food and some cereal. There was a huge stockpile of items I recognized as being recent coupon deals. I asked the lady if she was a couponer and she said she was as well as her daughter and that this stock was mostly from her daughters shopping trips. She was selling these Root Awakening shampoos and conditioners for $2.50 each which normally retails at approx $7.00 each. It's a great deal for those that do not coupon. Yet, for some reason I found this wrong. For one, there was so much product there that I have to wonder if this couponer was one of those that clear the shelves and do not leave any for other shoppers. But also I think about how this person got it for free or dirt cheap and is turning it around and making money off of it. Yes I know, that is business and if she is great a couponing then she can do this is she wants...but there is a moral line. Things that come to mind, 'pulling the wool over ones eyes', ripping someone off. Again, I admit that she is selling them at a much better price than retail. Hmmm. Maybe I am way off. When it comes to couponing, getting items for free or really cheap, IMO one should get as many as they need or some extra to give away or to donate...not 35 shampoos. I mentioned my garage sale 'find' to my hubby and he does not see anything wrong with this. Any thoughts?

Hitting a Wall

I adore this photo of Pookie. It was taken by a dear friend of mine last summer at sundown on the beach. This is the original here.

I'd like to add a bit more contrast, color and in general, give it more life. It looks a bit washed out. However, I am having so much trouble with it. No matter how I edit it the colors are either too red, yellow and not really brightening in anyway. I do not have a fancy editing program. I will just keep working with it. Here is what I have so far.

Ok, so I took a break and here I am a few hours later and I am much happier with where I am going with this photo. Here is where I am now:
I know I have SO much more to learn, but I am having orgasmic amounts of fun.

Style

My silly Pookie has been wanting to wear his pants backwards the past few days. Apparently he also likes the thug style too.

My Favorite

Photography

For my senior project 17 years ago, I did it on photography. I have had a love for photography since I was a youngin' but I never had an aspiration to do it for a living. But now that I have the time to play around with photography and I have muses that live in the home with me, I am having so much fun with the it all. Especially the editing process. I have never been much of a writer, hence the reason for the emptiness of the blog here and since I think my friends on Facebook are sick of all the photos I keep uploading, I am going to share them here.
